The Higgins Lake Utilities Authority's Annual/Regular Board Meeting scheduled for July 11, 2024 at 4:00pm, is being moved from the Lyon Township Hall, 7851 West Higgins Lake Drive, Roscommon, MI, 48653 to the Beaver Creek Township Hall, 8888 South Grayling Road, Grayling, MI, 49738.



At the regular board meeting of the HLUA Board on June 13, 2024, the HLUA Board approved an increase in quarterly fees of $40.00.  The increase in the O&M Fee is due to increases in our Operations Contract, Admin Contract, Grinder Pumps, Insurance, and Permit Costs.  Starting with the July 1, 2024 quarterly invoices, the fees will be as followes:

  O&M:    $142.50
ER&R:      $45.00
      CI:        $7.50
 Total:    $195.00


HLUA Review for CCCOA Land Use Request/Permit

To start the HLUA Review process for a CCCOA Land Use Request/Permit, you can call the 800 Number above and select extension 4.  


Notice - Do not allow any kitchen grease to enter drains, wipe pans and place in garbage

Notice - Do not flush wet wipes down toilet, they will plug grinder pump

Notice - Do not cover grinder pump cover to allow for proper venting

Notice - Do not power wash grinder pump or sewer system components



The Higgins Lake Utilities Authority (HLUA) was created in May, 2007 by Lyon Township (Roscommon County) and Beaver Creek Township (Crawford County).  The HLUA consists of a Treatment Facility and Collection System using E-One Grinder Pumps.  Currently, we have 405 Cottages connected to the Treatment Facility using a low pressure E-One Grinder Pump System.
